old homestead

Local History:

Historic and scenic family ranch founded in the 1890's by Hollis Holiday and his wife Ina. He served as the first game warden in the Eastern Arizona Territory, as Deputy Sheriff and as Pima Town Marshall. The local area was rich in gold mining, cattle ranching and cattle rustling. The famous Spenazuma Gold Mine Fraud   was in the headlines across the U.S. And in 1889 the Wham Paymaster Robbery  occurred along the old road between Fort Grant and Fort Thomas near Black Rock.

Today the ranch is operated by the third generation: grandson Newell Dryden, his wife Bunny and their three sons. Come share the beauty of this wilderness and experience a life style of four generations. Enjoy clean air, wild flowers, towering rock formations, picturesque sunsets, abundant wildlife and the history of the American Southwest.
